About Me

In April 2015 I returned from an incredible 4 year long journey through parts of Europe and Asia.

A trip that would change my life in a very profound way.

I love connecting with compassionate/respectful and environment aware people, sharing/cooking delicious and nutritious plant based dishes, being in the ocean and to create music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In spring 2010 I met CSer which were hosted by a friend. Completely amazed by meeting these kind strangers I created this profile the minute I got home.

Couchsurfing opens doors to amazing open human beings. Having surfed quite a few couches in Europe and Asia I will try to help anyone in need, even though I am not able to host at the moment.

Interests

# Plant based nutrition

After more than 30 years of passively supporting the cruelty behind the meat and dairy industry I made the conscious decision to stop doing so and became vegan in late September 2016. But the word began goes far beyond the plate.

One of the best decisions I have ever made. For the animals, for the planet, for my health.

I'm more than happy to provide information and to share my experience.

# Freediving

Diving into the waters on a single breath is another discovery I am incredibly grateful for. Flying into the silent depth is a powerful and meditative way of reconnecting with mother ocean, and yourself.

# Music

Absolutely love strumming strings and percussion. So I love meeting musicians with different backgrounds to exchange music skills or to just sit down, stop talking and start playing, creating atmospheres with sounds and melodies. Magic.

# Languages

A few weeks before arriving in a new country I usually start learning the local language. Languages: A game of combining sounds differently or to add new ones - and suddenly - doors that did not exist at first start to open up.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

If there's ONE thing, it's probably my first big trip:

In the age of 26 I made the decision to become a free human being for a while (which turned out to be a very looong while). I quit my job, moved out of my flat and said goodbye to family and friends for as long as necessary in order to find a way to a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

A trip from which I "returned" almost 4 years later, but would kinda last a life time..
