About Me

CURRENT MISSION

gnōthi seauton ;)

ABOUT ME

Lefthanded.
I have a talent in math, but no talent in writing cover letters.
I sing. Mostly in choirs. For most of my life. Choir is a kind of philosophy, I think.
I'm skeptic, introvert and all other evil, even though it's often not easy to see it.
When I go to a new place, I try to find some kind of its spirit, identity, to feel it from landscapes, smells, architecture, people faces, their style of spending leisure time... That's my alternative for sight-seeing.

PHILOSOPHY

Trying to believe more clearly and become a better human. Consider myself being a catholic. Therefore I base my contemplations on forgiving (oneself) and accepting the Love. Next step (I hope) will be about taking the responsibility.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I selfishly exploit CS purely for my own pleasure.

Interests

I'm always excited by any manifestation of the phenomenon which could be described as self-reference. I like to see it everywhere: in math&formal logic, art, film and literature, philosophy, theology and psychoanalysis.
Ok, that's a lie.

However, I may get fascinated almost by anything only if you tell about your interest passionately.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my movies: Frederico Fellini "Amarcord", Dziga Vertov "The man with a movie camera", Andrzej Wajda "Ashes and diamonds", Bela Tarr "Werckmeister harmonies", Todd Haynes "I'm not there", Wim Wenders "Paris, Texas", Ingmar Bergman "Fanny and Alexander", Vytautas Zalakevicius "Adam wants to be a man", Jim Jarmush "Dead man".

Music: live music. A bit of rock, a bit of jazz, a bit of electronic, a bit of indie. Never too much of music, always looking for new sounds and never being able to remember names and titles.
If I could, I'd go to the concert of The Doors.

Some of my favourite authors and books: Milan Kundera, Jorge Luis Borges, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Umberto Eco, Herman Hesse, Cheslaw Milosz; Books of Alice by Lewis Carroll, "To steal horses" by Per Petterson.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can talk a lot about Vilnius.
Ant teach you Lithuanian folk songs :)

I want to learn... gosh, everything. I wish to experience that moment, again and again, when I realize that the part of me, my attitude, my lifestyle and values I consider(ed) being inherent to me are actually very conditional, caused by my environment, by culture and history I have been taught. I wish to learn how to change myself. With love :)
