Overview
About Me
Young, passionate and creative are three words that could wrap the way I conduct my research today. I am now working on unravelling the secrets of subglacial processes by listening to the water flowing under the glacier. Why starting with a description of my job ? Because this is what I do more than 50% of my time. Because this is what I have chosen (so far ...) as the best way to combine my will of knowledge, adventures, meeting and working with people and moving forward to make our world a better place. Does this sound a bit cheesy ? Yes, so what ?
I am quit knew here, have a look at my https://www.facebook.com/unanni or https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Ugo_Nanni for more !
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I travel for leisure, I often take my tent and my camping gears, and do not cross the world to do it as Europe is already so big !! But I also often travel for work, for conferences, for fieldwork or to visit a university. This is the opportunity to stay a bit longer, visit the place, and meet peoples. As I like to take these moments by myself, I enjoy sharing these experiences with people I have never met and that know the place. The point is I have only been a couple of times on couchsurfing, so still a newbe !!
Interests
When I am not listening to the glaciers I also share my work through comics, documentary, video games or conferences. When I am doing that I go into the woods, then I come back to go to the theatre before going back to my place writing letters to friends, lovers and whoever !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It was 3 am, no sounds except the waves, the winds and the fire cracks. The dog was awake, looking around, I was drinking a cup of tea and the temperature was way below freezing point. I could see our camp near the shore as here the sun never sets at this time of the year. We were the two of us, every body was peacefully sleeping while we were on bear watch, looking out for polar bears.
