Overview
About Me
ABOUT ME: I have been a native English language teacher for the last few years in Malaysia, and Colombia.
I worked in Malaysia at an international school in Kuala Lumpur (KL) for five years, and lived there for six years, including volunteering in Sabah, East Malaysia, which was a great experience, and then working briefly in the norther part of West Malaysia, before being up in KL.
I am born and raised in the UK , I am friendly, approachable and flexible. I enjoy new experiences, meeting like-minded people, travelling, kayaking, swimming, scuba diving, playing tennis, and recently digital photography.
I am now based in Banding, Java, Indonesia, since I married a lovely local Indonesian girl. My philosophy is to try everything once at least once, and am keen to share experiences with other like-minded people. My partner is like-minded.
MY PHILOSOPHY: Live life to the full. Live each day as if it were your last!
Kill people with kindness and treat others how you would wish to be treated yourself.
Enjoy your life and all the events that occur within it. God is a wonderful host, as is this paradise Earth that has been loaned to us.
We look forward to meeting you, or even hosting you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We love to meet like-minded people, to join some interesting groups and enjoy life in a new continent/environment, especially given that Banding is the place to be!
We would like to help others, and receive support in return as and when necessary.

Music, Movies, and Books
Self help type philosophy, some English Literature (I used to teach it), love romantic comedies and some action movies, but not too keen on full out violence movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Taking my first year out in Canada in 1996 changed me for life or did it, maybe I was always destined to travel...
Teach, Learn, Share
We are here on this Earth for the following reason:
" We all possess a skill or talent that we much find and utilise. We will not be judged on how much we have accumilated at the end of our lives, but on the contribution we made to society as a whole".
I therefore happy to TEACH English, LEARN Spanish and about the culture I am immersed in, and share my experiences with those that are interested. I now have the blessed chance to learn all about Indonesian culture, and, again, we hope to be able to share it with you.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Our warm personalities, experiences of living in Asia and Latin America, the English language and culture, work experience, the love for food and cooking and many more things.
