Hello Everyone,

my name is Uli (short for Ulrich). I'm an openminded biologist by heart, who works as a teacher now. I live in Cologne, grew up in Bonn, so you can call me a Rheinländer to the bones. I like to travel and to meet new people, that's why I love to do couchsurfing. I'm a passionate cook, I rarely drink, but especially cider makes me weak.

I love to travel, especially discover the world with my bike (mostly alongside my boyfriend). While travelling I'm more a city explorer than a beach boy ;). For me learning about a city's culture, tradition, and history through itself and their citizen is one of the most amazing things in the world. Since I love cooking I love food (except for sea food) I love to discover a city's/region's culture by its cuisine.

As much as I love to visit foreign cities I love to share my Cologne with you. Even if you stay with another host you can always ask me to show the city and the region.

At the moment I cannot host guests, because my cat gets really stressed out by overnight guests.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love travelling, since I am very social, I do not like to be alone in a hotel room. I love to meet people and hear their stories and understand their hometown and homecountry. Also learn their language and have a good time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard to think of one in particular. I think my best experience so far was my first time visiting Tenrife and do all the hiking. And the other one was exploring Mallorca with my bike.

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I'm extremely interested in languages and know a lot about my own and its dialects and sociolects I can teach you a lot about "Rheinisch" and how German really works. Also I am very patient in helping learning English and Dutch.

I also love to go to the zoo, forest, natural history museum etc. and share my knowledge as biologist.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook for them, I love cooking, but I am not really good in German food, but I would try my best. I can cook Greek or Italian very well.
