About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn what makes the world go round.

ABOUT ME

I was fortunate enough to be born the eldest of four kids to parents that did some extensive traveling throughout their lifetime. I have had the opportunity to live in Germany, Nigeria, West Africa, Brazil and of course the US. Unfortunately my chosen career does not afford the luxury of extensive traveling. However, my wife and I have started to host foreign exchange student from around the world and now we would love to visit them and see them in their own countries. At the same time see some more of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Work hard and play hard. The harder you play the more fun you have.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My ability to participate is somewhat limited by the amount of people we have in the house. If we don't have any exchange students staying with us we have plenty of room. It does occasionally happen that we travel, go camping, or visit friends and family which would also preclude our ability to offer the availability of a couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Never officially done it before, but the more I think about it unofficially I think I have. Crashing at relatives or friends for a night or two while traveling makes for wonderful experiences.

Interests

Our biggest interest are our foreign exchange students and their associated activities. We have had high school students from Germany (1), Norway (2), Australia (2) and Equador (1). I am a volunteer fire fighter, we love camping, My wife is an avid 750+ book per year reader (some of them are children's books).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - anything from classical to jazz to rock to easy listening.
Reading - I have to admit I am not an avid reader. The only time I read is when I completely turn off and relax - does not happen very often.
Movies - Commedies, old westerns, Buster Keaton movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing things I have seen would have to be open air markets in Nigeria (West Africa), the sandy beaches in Brazil, the Alps in Europe, and Las Vegas in Nevada, USA.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Norway

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil, Germany, Greece, Nigeria, United States
