About Me
Hello beautiful people!
My name is Ulises, named after James Joyce"s book, which I haven't been able to finish in my life time (so hard to read). I'm a transpersonal (spiritual) psychologist. I used to work with people living in poverty or homelessness. Now I´m creating my own healing center in Tapalpa.
I love plants and art. Every single place I have lived in has been infested by both. They have the ability to bring to life any empty space.
I've lived in Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom and USA but I have traveled to some other countries in Europe, Asia and America. I love to get to know the cities I go, I don't like express trips. My favorite part is get to know local people, how they live, the places they like, how they talk and how they feel. I like to embrace the weather, food and culture of each place.
I prefer a cup of coffee and a nice conversation than a party night, a mat on a friendly and welcoming home than a fancy hotel, and the sweet taste of a human voice saying "good night" and "good morning" than the sound of the mass media (TV).
I hope to meet you ones brother or sister :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing because it's a great way to meet people while traveling, make friends around the world and travel with less. For me couch surfing is also a way to support each other in out adventures, fortunes and misfortunes.

Music, Movies, and Books
World music by far. From the Andes to Sufi, western African, Jazz, mariachi, classical, experimental, post-rock, alternative, no end. MUSIC is the SOUL of humanity.
I just need to say that I'm not fan of Hollywood movies and I love nature, ecology, conservation documentaries.
I like fiction books but I also love poetry, specially if it's mystic, nature or soul based. I read a lot of theoretical psychology, spirituality, and religion pluralism. Latin American literature is magical by the way ;)
