About Me
Hey everyone.
I'm an Istanbul based lawyer and also was born in this mega jungle. Other than a semester long exchange in Poznan-Poland I can easily say I was a loyal Istanbulite.
I'm living with my wife and she is a CS user as well. Here is her account link. https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/monika.dy
To be honest I actually find it hard to talk about myself but lets give it a try. I'm a calm and optimistic guy full of passion about life and new experiences. I think I'm a good listener and have a calm approach on things. Don't get nervous or angry easily. Like to be around open minded, positive and easygoing people and would like to believe I am one of them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet some new people and perhaps help some fellow travellers. I enjoy making new friends and learning about their customs and cultures and CS certainly is a great place for that.
Interests
I love traveling just like everyone else here i guess. I used to spend most of my savings just for that purpose, not even eating lunch just to be able to eat that lunch later in a far corner of the world. Love to use hitchhiking in those journeys. But I got to a point where I have less time to go away recently. So I focused on outdoor activities and I love everything about it. Camping, climbing mountains or cycling cover most of my weekends recently and I'm happy with that.
I love driving. But just not in Istanbul! I got special interest on cars and especially classics. Can't say no to a chance to drive a new car that I never tried before. Even got an old classic, a 1972 VW Beetle which I have since 2010. We used to go longer tours around the country but it's more like a sunday car recently.
I also like to try new beers. So now wherever I go, I'm trying to taste the local\national ones. I can easily say it became a side quest for me. Thanks to that habit, I started a beer cap collection. Comes as a bonus when you try all those bottles. May sound lame, but gotta tell you it looks cool to see almost 1000 different caps together.

Music, Movies, and Books
I used to be a pure Metalhead. Still love Heavy Metal and keep listening but had to add more tastes and vibes in my playlist. So I got softer on music and don't feel guilty about it anymore :) I learned to enjoy my sunday mornings with Dub, Reggea and Ska. Like to drive with 80s Sythpop-Synthrock and New Wave. I also try to listen my music on vinyl records and have a humble collection. I don't have problem with digital music but I guess im a little bit old fashioned on this topic. Don't mind to check new record stores on my travels.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiking from Poland to Rome all alone in 3 days. I remember I was inexperienced for this and had to get quickly skilled on the 1800 km long way. This was basically how i got involved in all this hitchhiking thing.
