About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm cruising confidently, with no idea where I'm going but knowing exactly how to get there.

Always prepared for the next adventure, on the lookout for new experiences or working on some crazy ideas. Working as a ITfreelancer in a booming sector gives me a huge amount of freedom and flexibility which I tend to enjoy to the fullest.

Now I am living a Digital Nomad's lifestyle together with my wife. Working online and travelling the world.

PHILOSOPHY

A ship in port is safe, but that's not what ships are built for ...

Those who are open-minded are unconquered by the logic of reality.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Paris Rendez-vous was my first and one of the best CS experience I've had. I arrived in Paris "by accident" after a night out in Ghent with my couchsurfers. I fell asleep in the back of my CSers car to wake up in Paris! Totally unprepared I was able to stay there for 7 days and having the time of my life thanks to the Paris CS Family.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After a wild night with some Israelis I venture alone in the streets of McLeod Ganji heading to my guesthouse at 3:30am. The streets are completely deserted. Suddenly I am surrounded by a pack of street dogs(20!) and they where not very happy with my presence and not willing to let me pass through. Then, out of nowhere 3 beautiful big dogs came walking next to me and they guided me like 3 guardian angels through the streets while all the other dogs keep on barking an growling at me. I've never been so scared in my life!

Teach, Learn, Share

If you think its not safe to eat the food from small vendors in some dusty street but you are very hungry. Avoid meat & just pick the vendor frequented by local women and families! Always drink bottled water and avoid ice.(tested 10 months in Asia
eating EVERYWHERE & never got sick!).

Don't overprotect yourself with pills when it comes to germs and food. ALL people I travelled with in Asia with a custom-pill-cocktail-protection-diet got sick. Let your body adjust and become stronger.
