About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To. Have. Fun. And learn something in the meantime.

ABOUT ME

I am tall, lanky (but don't call me that), and like to think. I am genuine, and generally only lie for a laugh. I smile easily. I like parties, but not because I like to drink (don't get me wrong, though, I value a good beer over many other things). I'm very... chill, but I like to explore. I can curl up with a book for hours. I have travelled some on my own, and enjoyed the experience, but I want to travel in company next. I listen more than I speak, and try to only speak when I have something to say. I can be naive, but am well aware of the tendency. The one thing I set myself against is fear, but I am slightly arachnophobic (nothing to be done about it, really).

PHILOSOPHY

Keep a healthy skepticism. Carpe that diem. Don't take anything too seriously. Use your laughter wisely. And often.

Music, Movies, and Books

Classic sci-fi, Hafiz, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, the Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, some opera, most Romantic period classical, the Godfather (both the movies and the book), Dead Poets Society, Despicable Me, Ratatouille, The Lord of the Rings (more the books than the movies)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I want to do many things, and have half-formed plans for doing them.

In the meantime: I have seen (and actually see fairly regularly) three unconnected mountain ranges in one view.

Teach, Learn, Share

As far as the "Teach" or "Share" part goes, anything I can offer is at the disposal of my friends, and while having me sleep on your couch isn't a guarantee of friendship, it's a step in the right direction. So: I count myself as a pretty good cook; I have the insider's scoop on the state of the high-quality olive oil business, at least in California; I'm smart, but don't like to brag; (in retrospect) I am good at hatching mischevious plans; and I am good at math. I like poetry, and people say I'm good at speaking.

I am open to learning more about anything that someone wants to teach.
