ABOUT ME

How to describe myself to you, a total stranger who is reading my profile now? ;-)

I am just a normal guy who grew up in a small village in Bieszczady (mountain region on the very south of Poland). Forests, lake with clear water, hot summer, rough winter - I loved that place. Spent 19 years there but had to move out to northern Poland and so I've ended up in Gdansk.

Gdansk is a totally different place to live but I've adapted and I am quite happy here. As most of us, mere mortals:), I need to pay my bills and go to work. So during weekdays I am getting up at 6.00 AM (take that into consideration before asking for a couch) and I am back at home around 3:00 - 4:00 PM.

I like to spend my free time in different ways: playing basketball, watching movie, reading book, cycling or just exploring Gdansk and its surroundings. Often I take my car and drive to some nearby lakes and forests to get some rest from the city noise.

I am not that much a clubbing person.. that does not mean that I do not like to party. I just prefer a nice conversation while listening to music with a beer or drink in my hand, rather than letting know all my neighbours that today I am partying. You know what I mean?;)

All possible ways. I will try to host more people this year to promote Polish hospitality ;) . If I am not able to host I do try to help in other way, by giving advices, recommending places etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Gosh there are so many...

I do not have any particular movie that I like but I watch a lot of movies of varying genre. I like chinesee cinema (Stephen Chow's movies or Danny Yen), european and american.

I am listening a lot of bands of different genre: metal, rock, punk, folk, jazz, electronic - always looking for a new interesting music.

As goes for reading.., I have a few hundred books. I like autors such as Glen Cook, John Fowles, Jaroslaw Grzedowicz, Stephen King, Andre Norton, Miroslav Zamboch, Roger Zelazny and many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting up from bed everyday in this country of paradoxes is amazing enough! ;)

But seriously... I do not think that there is anything amazing which I've done. However, who knows what future brings?

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not considering myself a good teacher. But I can show you a few guitar licks or chess openings or we can discuss how to write a better computer code.

As goes for learning. I would give a lot if you know how to cook chinese cousine! I am trying really hard to mimic the flavour of the food that I am eating in chinese restaurants but it is not the same :(

If you know any other cousine.. I am also very keen to learn some basic dishes :)
