I wanna be I.

So now I'm leaving my home and traveling
to take a time to think about myself in an unfamiliar places.

My name 'A-Umm' is what I made by myself. (It's not my real name.)
Actually it comes from Chinese Character, 我音.
It means 'My Sound' or 'My Voice'.

I wanna concentrate on my inner voice.
So I enjoy spending time to think about myself.
That's why I like being alone.

Actually at first I'm a little bit afraid of meeting new people.
Because sometimes it's hard for me to reveal myself as it is. I want to be more think and act naturally, sometimes it's hard. Maybe I take time to get to close to each other.

But also sometimes, wih some people I get close to each other like an old friend. I know that it is hard to maintain long and sincere relationship with everyone that I meet, but I hope we could face with true heart, consideration and affect.

I know that human being is connected to each other
and we influence each other.
Even if it is not visible, I can feel that we are all connected.

So I want to be more honest to me and you and share about our life together :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like listening to people's life.

It gives me new insight to my life :)

I think everyone is like a space.

I want to explore the space.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, especially quiet music.
Sometimes I just play cafe music on youtube when I'm doing something to make me refresh.

What I'm listening now is 'First Kiss - Ryan O'Shaughnessy'.

I like 'Mommy' directed by Xavier Dolan, 'Leon' and 'Fantastic Captain', 'One flew over the coukcoo's nest', 'fly away' and 'Sound of music'.

I like movie revealing their emotions deeply and sharing their true mind.
Also I like movie that makes us think of our life and freedom.
Above these movies are that kind of movie, so I like them.

One of my favorit book is 아직 나에게는 한쪽 다리가 있다. about a boy who fights with leukemia.

I read this book when I was 9 years old.
This is how important keeping positive, thankful, strong mind
even if the situation is not like that way.
Maybe since that time I would be more positive person and I presented this book to my teacher.

And I also like Springbuck.

I read this book when I prepared for the exam going into univ.
At that time, I was a little bit exhausted and I just studied for good grade.
But it reminds me to think about what is important in my life and became to think about it more carefully.
This book is like my map of life, really:-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To confess my real emotion, thoughts... to others.
For me, it's really hard to reveal inner mind, but I try to do be honest to myself and others.

I was born and raised in South Korea until now, 23.

Of course it is my private story so it cannot be a general one, but it is based on Korea society so if you are curious about it, I would share with you.

Sometimes through this conversation, I can see my country and society more closely.

Of course I cannot know everything well,
but I try to do my best to feel more close to Korea or just me, Korean :-)

I want to know your culture especially education environment.

I'm interested in education and if it's possible I want to work related education, I mean broader meaning of education, not only teaching.

Because I can think education is powerful than we think,
so it can influence people and then sometimes it makes sth change in good way or bad way.

So I hope want to find good education system or educational program and I want to do something related to it.

(That's why I wanna go to Denmak, where there is a school studying education together and volunteering in Africa or India and making some sociable projects in Denmark or UK.)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Sharing our opinions about everything that we are talking about.

I try to practice Korean food if I have suitable ingredient.
(But, sorry, please do not expect good taste because I'm not that much good t cooking haha)

I have small musical instruments hihi.

Ah I can introduce korean music.
Maybe some of you know K-Pop, usually a little bit loud dance music.
But actually I enjoy quiet and more accoustic music. We have various kind of songs in Korea, so I can introduce them to you:-)

And if you want, I can write your name and some Korean poems with Korean. Maybe it can be hard I try to introduce what it means :-)
