Overview
About Me
I am a self-taught artist with different mediums and materials experiment, exploring oils, acrylics on canvas and most recently murals on the streets of Kigali where I founded INSIKA ZIVUGA means “TALKING WALLS” in Kinyarwanda, a street art movement that aims at taking art out of the gallery and this is where I got nicknamed MUNTU 621. My colorful figurative works, portraiture and cityscapes artwork primarily revolves around identity and belonging issues in the African continent, Rwanda in particular but also aims to redefine the image of local culture and people to the rest of the world. I explore the old and the new, the far and the near, the different and the familiar. Eager to refine my digital media skills, I am currently attending the African Digital Media Academy program in Kigali, Rwanda.
