I am 22 years old and currently living in Istanbul. I am a senior student at one of the top universities of the country studying Translation and Interpreting Studies as a major and Politics as a minor degree, and one more thing that I do is American Studies because I am also interested in literature and culture, but in December I am moving to Phoenix, Arizona to study Politics at Arizona State University. I want to stick to Politics because my biggest dream is to work for the United Nations one day. Thanks to my field, I have always had the chance to meet a lot of different people from all over the world, so basically I am all open and eager to get to know new people having different stories from different places. Having chance to travel and know other people, I have built a free-prejudice self conscious, so that is why I can easily say that I am totally an easy going person with whom you can easily start a conversation and have fun. When I was 18 years old I took a year off and moved to United Kingdom to have a different sort of life experience and actually I did. It was pretty amazing. And a bit earlier, when I was 16 I joined an exchange program in Germany and went to a small town which is nearby Stuttgart to live with a German family who has a son the same age as me. I still go there because those people in that small town helped me to become the person who I am today. They are literally my second family and their son is like a brother to me, but other than that I do not have any siblings so you can say that I am the spoiled child of my small family. In terms of family, I can say that I am bit "mixed up" because my father has Yugoslavian origins while my mum is a second generation immigrant from Kardzhali, Bulgaria.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I am here because for a long period of time I have heard and listened to the experiences of my close friends that they had via Couchsurfing. I think that this Couchsurfing is truly amazing because it shows us actually how small the world can be and actually one day you may go somewhere you do not know and even more you may stay with people that you are not acquainted with. Hence, I am here. I am here because I would like to dive into the story lines of the other people that I had no idea they exist!

Hugely interested in different languages and I am a huge fan of Politics. I am also a book worm. My two far most favourite books are "Les Miserables" and "Anna Karenina" It may sound so predicted but when it comes to books I am so old-fashioned because literally obsessed with classics but I have to tell you that I am coming from a generation that everyone was addicted to Harry Potter. ( I am one of them) Out of professional spectrum I do sometimes play tennis as well.

I am a huge fan of Darren Aranofsky and Tarantino, but my fav movie belongs to Sean Penn which is "Into the Wild". I do not remember how many times I watched it. Some other examples I can tell you are The Reader, Django:Unchained, Sweet November, City of Angels, Anna Karenina, The Riot Club, The Fight Club.
I cannot say that I have a specific type of music taste. I try to listen everything that I may like, so I am open for all different genres.

I said many times above that I am hugely interested in Politics, so I am open for intellectual discussions in Politics. I also stated that I am doing some stuff relating to American Studies so I can talk about literature with the accompany of a glass of wine, but I am not that much nerdy, I have the ability to break awkward silences by talking and making funny stuff. I can restlessly talk about my adventures which happened in abroad or in my own lovely city Istanbul. Even though I may be seemed a bit talkative, I am a good listener as well.
