About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Just graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering so who knows.
ABOUT ME
Trying to travel a bit before I head back to start the real job/world. College has been a workout (all 4 of the ones I attended) but maybe it'll all turn out ok. Also an amature organic gardener, who woulda thought?
PHILOSOPHY
I would have to say that I really believe in the statement made by Dr. Ralph Borsodi (http://www.soilandhealth.org/03sov/0303critic/Brsdi.intrvw/The%20Plowboy-Borsodi%20Interview.htm) that states the following:
"But no man created the earth or its natural resources. And no man or government has a moral title to the earth's ownership. If it is to be used, and we have to use it in order to live, then it has to be treated as a trust. We have to hold the earth in trust. We can enjoy the fruit of the land or of a natural resource, but the land or the resource itself must be treated as a gift. A man who uses the land is a trustee of that land and he must take care of it so that future generations will find it just as good, just as rich, as when he took possession of it. A trustee is entitled to a return for administering his trust . . . but he must never destroy the trust itself. The moment you lay down this simple moral principle, of course, you make ducks and drakes of our existing method of treating the natural resources of the earth. The history of America is just one gigantic land exploitation."
Nuff said.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm the type of person that has no problem giving people a chance (if they are honest and deserve it) and love to "stick it to the man". I think the CS project has the potential to accomplish both by aiding people in their travels and by 'short circuiting' the entire hotel/travel industry establishment.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've always been the college kid / family member that can "sleep anywhere" and will. It has always been a plus and I really don't mind meeting new and interesting people.
Interests
Lord, too much to list, but I'm somewhat of a video-gamer, gardener, frisbee fan, rookie mountain biker, hiker, and (for the record) a survivor of a poisonous snake bite. Also a rookie fly-fisherman in training and trying to learn the banjo (on my own, *sigh*) via the clawhammer method. Also been using a straight razor to shave for the last year, it's fun and way more enjoyable than those trashy disposables or electrics.

Music, Movies, and Books
Stephen King, J.R.R. Tolkien, Issiac Asimov, Frank Herbert, Orson Scott Card, etc. fan. All those are great but I'm never scared to pick up a book from the library and give it a shot. For example "The Carpet Makers" by Eschbach (translated from German I think) was a very good read.
I also enjoyed the Harry Potter books, and classic Horror is almost always good. Surprisingly enough I even enjoyed the Interview With A Vampire series. Post apocolyptic stuff is a genre I enjoy as well, "On the Beach", "Alas, Babylon", "Warday", and others are all classics but none top The Dark Tower series from Stephen King.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
See snakebite fact above. Also hiking in Yellowstone National Park and seeing the Bio-Bay in Vieques, Puerto Rico are pretty high up there.
Teach, Learn, Share
All the good intentions in the world don't have the impact of one positive action.
Nope, that's not a quote by someone famous. Just kinda how I feel about some people that have great "ideals" about how the world is wrong and don't look at realisitic solutions to the issues.
