ABOUT ME

I'm a nerdy fellow who prefers good conversation over going out to clubs. I love to relax over a beer with friends, see local musicians performing, read, and play board games. I enjoy learning about small differences in cultures. I can have discussions about history for hours. And while I am no scientist, I love discussing it as well.

I also have a bit of a love affair with food - I'll try anything once.

I've served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghana from 2012 to 2014.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed once so far in Barcelona and it was amazing. Staying with a local provided me with a greater insight into life there. I'm here for the unparalleled exchanges.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed to the tallest waterfall in West Africa in flip-flops.

I'm backpacking Europe with a small backpack of clothes, an ereader, and my journals.

Also, I was attacked by a moose at the Grand Tetons.

That's three. I'm a rebel too, apparently.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you about life in West Africa. I am also a very good gardener/farmer. I can give you great tips on making an organic garden or building a clay pizza oven. I might be able to make southern biscuits and gravy.

I'd like to learn about your country and city! Tell me what you enjoy doing. Tell/show me where to go for good food - what people really eat, traditional or not. I'm want to know about life in the rest of this wide world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, teach a little Twi (a language in Ghana), and maybe cook some Appalachian food if I can find the ingredients.
