About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn, increase understanding & make connections
ABOUT ME
International connections intrigue me and I'm striving to carve a place in the world that can do something more than line pockets.
On the one hand I love travel and culture and people; on the other hand, I'm a small-town country girl at heart and there's nothing I like more than to get away from it all and breathe in some country air and look up at the stars.
PHILOSOPHY
We, as a society, need to shift our focus and prioritize different things. I wish I had a firmer grip on how this could happen.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Started hosting summer 2008 - it was great. Then I met some great people on my journeys in Europe last year. Now I'm ready to host again!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosting, surfing, and meeting others have all been wonderful experiences! Don't forget meeting for a drink/dinner can make all the difference between traveling alone/night in a hostel versus experiencing the best part of your trip.
I have hosted people from:
Hong Kong 08/08
Quebec 08/08
Have surfed:
England 09/08
Ireland 11/08
Have met for meals/drinks:
Italy 03/09

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: classical, folk, 60s/70s rock, Bryan Adams, Celtic, some French & Italian... not a fan of most rap, punk, heavy metal. But I don't judge people on their music tastes unless they are insensitive about others.
I love to listen to people play their guitars.
Books: Many tales that are written for children but meant for adults; mysteries; some escapist, fantasy and science fiction; some travel lit. and other non-fiction; other books as recommended, or picked off the shelf of the local library. I generally always have two or more books on the go.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed the volcano La Soufriere in St. Vincent. Very amazing journey.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can show you how to cook amazing BC salmon, or do any of the activities I listed above. There is a lot of wildlife around my house - best seen when hiking, biking, or canoeing.
