About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring, Learning, Enjoying, Traveling

ABOUT ME

I'm 27 and I'm working at the University of Zurich. In addition, I'm doing my PhD in Humor and Positive Psychology (relatively new branch of psychology that is concerned with humor, optimism, well-being, happiness, health, etc)

In August and September 2009, I did a 6-week-internship in Novosibirsk. To live in another culture was really an exciting and enriching experience for me.

I try to travel as much as I can (mostly Europe at the moment), and I'm looking forward to my experiences in Switzerland!

PHILOSOPHY

"Philosophy" is a bit too much, as I like to keep it simple: I enjoy myself and consider my attitude as realistic-optimistic. In addition, I try to put my smile on other people's faces, too. ;-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd love to get to know other couchsurfers, because they create absolutely amazing experiences!!

I can show you some nice places in Zurich (though I haven´t been living here for long) and hang out with you, as much as my crowded time schedule permits it. So don't hesitate to contact me!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had so far couchsurfing experiences in Germany, UK, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, and Russia, and every single one was absolutely great!

I'm looking forward to extending these experiences and also to host other couchsurfers.

Interests

I love music (esp. rock, punk, ska, indie, oldies) and play drums. I also do Aikido (Japanese martial art) and read many books and papers. Furthermore, I like dancing and singing and do several sports (e.g. cycling, table tennis, climbing).
I also enjoy interactions with all kinds of people, because it's invaluable to exchange ideas, thoughts, and opinions and of course to laugh together!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every day provides one with amazing and interesting events and situations, you just need to notice them.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I can teach German and English, and also drumming (rock style) and dancing (classic and latin) and basic Aikido and table tennis moves.
I also know a bit about computers, esp. Ubuntu / Linux and computer security (i.e., getting rid of malware on Windows machines).

I'd like to improve my English (towards native speaker), Spanish, and Russian (towards enabling communication) and learn about other cultures and get to know new music!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Russian Federation, San Marino, Spain, United Kingdom, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, Russian Federation, Switzerland
