Hey all! I'm a post study guy, figuring out what's the big "next", now stationed in hometown Vilnius, Lithuania. Since I was a kid I was into art stuff, started out with drawings, illustrations, heavily traditional media, printmaking, old academic school drawing, etc. Growing up, I moved to local Academy of Art where my approach has steadily changed. I got into Installation, digital media and so on. Now I reached a point when art I like is kind of a floating point. Not more visuality is required as a narrative or state of being behind it. the same I could say about my own line of life I guess. Everyone reaches a point when something new and changing has to be found and done!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Equally to the places I visit, people who live there a as important. I usually travel with residencies or work, that way I can get to feel and experience locations and locals. And when I travel on my own - what better way there is to get to know what's around than staying at someones place, having an interesting conversation about art, music, trends in general locally and globally?

Interests

As you have already figured out, my main interest is Contemporary Art field. I particularly enjoy northen Europe scene, I find something about the connection between the chilly cold out there and the way it makes people think, feel, live. However, due to the recent job occupations I dive into digital visual commercial area, maybe more than I'd like to. Oh and I was dreaming about becoming a sailor once. There's something about the open waters that makes me feel in awe.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have no favorite music, but of course there are preferences. I like good old rock, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, etc. When it comes to contemporary days, I enjoy experimental electronic music, psychedelic trance (sometimes), music leaning towards sound art. Movies...Lars Von Trier, Jarmusch, Lynch are my favorite directors, though not all my favs. Sadly I have problems remembering names and titles, which sometimes prove to me a nightmare.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd love to share a moment talking about the things we'd find interesting with host, perhaps cooking a local meal of Lithuania for dinner, going out and walking around, anything that's good for both!
