ABOUT ME

I like the simple things in life: friends, family, cooking food with said friends and family. I love music that is Real, especially when it has a fiddle. When I choose what I do I go in search of these things. This means I dance a lot, and chat/visit a lot and sleep little.

I'm from rural Maine, transplanted to the city to do Good Work. This is a labour of love. I enjoy cities, but I'm happier in the country. I miss fields and cows and wood stoves. As a city girl I enjoy walking to my social events and errands, I appreciate the skyline when I return from an adventure in the real world.

I'm a Quaker, and I'm really into connecting with the Deep Truth-- in myself, and in others.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm living in a house that has a b&b component, so hosting is a little messy right now. But come over and have tea or dinner or breakfast!
Occasionally I'm lucky enough to be travelling in an unfamiliar place, and I'd love to get to know you then, perhaps cook a meal together.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to web-based couch surfing, but I've hosted and been hosted a number of times.
A sweet couple in Prague rescued me from a sketchy man in a bar on a rainy night-- I recall their spontaneous hospitality with a haze of magic and gratitude.

Interests

Music, especially live, outdoor and with fiddles! I'm a Quaker, and I love learning about other people's thoughts and experiences on God, no God, life, mystery, Truth, etc. I knit. I L-O-V-E cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books

I prefer people and conversations to movies and books. I like stories that give surprising new views on how humans are. Expand my view.
As said, I love music with fiddles: Appalachian, cajun, New England contra, celtic, etc. I like other stuff too, esp. when I'm dancing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I learned how to build wooden boats (little ones) on the coast of Maine.
I co-created a highly sociable "lecture" series in my living room-- opportunity to learn from and socialize with our neighbors in rural Maine.

Teach, Learn, Share

I play clawhammer banjo decent enough, and would like to learn more.
I make a killer breakfast.
I know a good bit about Quakerism.
I have a lot to share about buidling community.
