About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live on purpose.

PHILOSOPHY

I am not sure I am guided by a single philosophy but here are some things I try to live by:

Live simply so that others may simply live.

Be kind to others even when they don't give you any reason to be.

Trust in the abundance of the world. It always provides what's needed.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My husband and I joined the CS community last year before a trip to Egypt. We had an amazing experience with our CS hosts and are totally hooked. We've only had the chance to host once in the past year because of travel but we're excited to pay it forward when we return to Baltimore.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've surfed in Egypt and recently in Sioux Falls, SD (both were incredible experiences). We hosted once at our place in Baltimore as well.

Interests

Anything outdoors. Love to climb, play in the ocean, attempt to surf, run, kayak, backpack. Garden, laze about in a hammock, drink wine, listen to good live music, read, meet new people, up-cycle old materials, study interior decorating

Music, Movies, and Books

Most anything Martin Scorsese has made, anything with dry satirical humor

Books: too many to list! Recently read the Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, Born to Run, and A thousand Splendid Suns, and am currently reading a Prayer for Owen Meany, but mostly I spend time reading peer reviewed journals and sociology books on gender and sexuality.

I read the Atlantic and New Yorker when I get the chance but most often listen to NPR to tune into the real world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Too many to list! I've traveled all over the world and have done some cool things, but really the most amazing thing I've ever seen is the birth of a child - totally incredible experience!

Teach, Learn, Share
