Sobre Mim
It's been a minute! 10 years ago I was filling this profile out as a student on an exchange semester in France, and cut to 2024, I'm working a job I love as a copywriter at a fast-paced digital marketing agency, and super excited for my trip back to Europe!
A little more about me:
Dreamer to a fault, creative...by default? 😅
I'm curious, friendly, goofy and a little nerdy. I've lived in India all my life (except said exchange semester, ofcourse), and am currently working in a sweltering yet endearing (to me!) city called Chennai, in South India. I'm passionate and driven and love what I do. My friends say I'm easy to talk to and confide in, and love teasing me about how goofy and forgetful I can be at times. Ofcourse, they also love everything I cook for them, and I somehow find myself being the 'momma' (as much I'd like not to be!) in most of my friend groups.
Por que estou no Couchsurfing?
The last time I was properly active here was in 2015, when I was on exchange to France, and on a shoestring budget. Couchsurfing then started out as pretty much the only option I had, if I wanted to see as much as possible in my time here then. But the experiences I had while couchsurfing surprised me, in all the good ways! I met so many kind, generous, different people from all walks of life, who were gracious enough to let me be a part of their slice of life. I had the chance to explore cities and countries like...a local, not a first time visitor, and everywhere I went, I made such special bonds and memories with the people that I met through couchsurfing.
And so, when I was planning my trip this time, I knew I wanted to do this again, and make sure that I explore new places, but also go back to India with more memorable experiences.
Interesses
They say I make a mean Bengali Chicken Curry, and I love travelling and photography, especially landscape photography!
I once used to be an incurable bookworm, but haven't had the time to read as much I'd like - especially sci-fi and fantasy! I write for a living, but have missed writing for myself - perhaps I'll get a chance to do that on this trip.

Músicas, Filmes e Livros
As far as music goes, I guess I just like a good, strong bassy beat? I've currently been going back to the basics with the likes of AC/DC and Linkin Park.
Books, well, a recent favourite is a non-fiction book called I'm okay, you're okay that was a big one in my mental health journey. But I'm a huge lover of fantasy and sci-fi fiction otherwise, and a good old whodunit is ofcourse, always welcome.
Among other childhood favourites are Jane Eyre, Crime and Punishment, Anna Karenina, Malgudi Days, Enid Blyton, Ruskin Bond, Hercule Poirot and oh! The Harry Potter series of course.
Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz
Found what I love to do - I believe I'm one of the lucky ones who's found her calling with what she does, and it's pretty damn amazing to me. :)
Ensine, Aprenda, Compartilhe
I can teach you a thing or two about cooking yummy Indian dishes, and probably some cool ChatGPT hacks 😂
Don't ask me to show you my adorable dog Scooby's photos, because that's just going to spiral endlessly :p But yes, will probably share that anyway, haha.
Would love to learn more about the local cuisine and pick up tips on cooking from you too! Oh, and new fantasy and sci-fi (or even anime!) show recommendations would be great, I've nearly watched everything I can think of.
O Que Posso Compartilhar com Anfitriões
Would love to regale you with hilarious out-of-context stories of my pretty normal yet eventful life. Oh, and ofcourse, useful punchlines in every language I know of (they'll come handy if you're in my part of the planet, trust me!) and ofcourse, a jam sesh is always fun!
