ABOUT ME
I'm an engineer, designer, performer. Have lived in Brooklyn, Florida, Seattle, Portland, the San Francisco Bay Area, the Jersey shore, Philadelphia, and now Denver. I live with my husband, Mitch; he is a computer-type, DIYer, promoter, tall person who loves beer. We enjoy building networks with artists, makers, doers, and open thinkers. We bike a lot, play a lot, and come up with new ideas all the time.
PHILOSOPHY
Discover your world, then with all your heart, give yourself to it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's the best way to meet someone from another place and share some time with them. It's valuable to expand your horizons, even when you are unable to leave home. I've enjoyed getting to know the world while hanging out with locals - Couchsurfing is a unique way to travel.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I like drum & bass, glitch, hip hop, idm, mash-ups and anything with a complicated beat or intelligent sampling. My husband is more in charge of music at our house. We get along with most genres - but not all. Love jazz, bluegrass, funk, reggae, and always a friend of noise.
Movies: Mad Max, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is my fave, also kung fu, action, spy, documentaries, animation, most sci-fi. I like movies about dreams. And anything classic. We love cartoons and keep up with the best of them: Archer, Rick and Morty, Bravest Warriors, Venture Bros., Super Jail, Invader Zim, just to name a few.
Books: My favorite genres are hard-boiled mysteries and historical fiction. I like Philip Dick and hard sci-fi, and anything with a twist; not a fan of coming of age novels or generational epics. I'd say I read quite a bit - check me out on Goodreads (ury949).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Crossed the International Dateline and lived the same day twice.
Teach, Learn, Share
Currently I'm learning how to play the piano.
I love math and science and talking about the subjects. Also love to make and build things and would enjoy helping or advising in any construction project. I make clothes and costumes very skillfully. I'm comfortable with tools and sewing machines. I love metal art; I can take apart and put together bikes, weld, and use a plasma cutter. I am an aerial acrobat, stilt walker and unicyclist. Right now I'm trying to learn fire fans. I paint murals sometimes. I'm interested in learning GIS; know some CAD. I know a lot about health and nutrition; I was in the military for a few years and can hold a conversation about ballistic missiles and unmanned aircraft systems, among other things.
