CURRENT MISSION
Learn the difference between what I'm supposed to do and what I can do in this life.
ABOUT ME
Photoblog: www.vitreoushumor.net
Website: www.davauer.com
I'm from a dairy farm in Wisconsin, USA. I've spent most of my time on this same small farm. I've lived in the nearby cities of Madison and Milwaukee during my formal education. I met and married my wife and have enjoyed living near our families for years.
I spent a year living in China and Taiwan when I was 12. I went back to spend another year when I was 21. These experiences opened the doors of world travel for me.
PHILOSOPHY
Live, think, love, do. Keep an open mind and be flexible to the end.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed at our friends in Edinburgh, Scotland and had a great time. This visit inspired us to move there for a few months later this year.
I couchsurfed in Delft, Holland and got to see the young vibrant life of the city in a couple days. Impossible if following the tourist road.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Took a backpack and a sleeping bag to a remote, unrestored part of the Great Wall of China and slept in one of the old garrison towers. Watched the sunrise from the top of the tower before hiking back down through the overgrown, crumbled wall.
Spent most of 2006 travelling the world. Started in London and took mostly trains to SE Asia. Most memorably the trans-Siberian in February.
