Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've loved hosting and being hosted. I love the idea of getting to experience an authentic side of any place you're passing through or staying in, and I love that I can help Albuquerque open up in that way to those visiting here.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

delightful company, humbling hospitality, great food, great wine, ordinary days and nights transformed into unexpectedly awesome memories.

Interests

crisp breezes, good coffee/tea, mountains, sky, reading, sewing, candles-as-light, painting, music, dancing like an idiot, singing like an idiot, camaraderie, patterns, big windows, delicious smells, beer, wine, whiskey, respecting good food, yard-sailing, pretty sentences, naps, dark chocolate, really big moons, walking, biking, making things, cleaning, laughing until I snort, writing, quirks/dorks/nerds, baking, family and friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Okay, all of these listy things are going to be generalizations.

Music: paisley underground, indie, jazz, The Classics (of course), folk, (some) glam, avant-pop, new wave, blues, and whatever else might float my boat.

Movies: plots that make you feel awkward, lastingly weird/invigorated/desperate/giddy/empathetic, etc. Absurd things. Really good scripts or reeeeaaaallly bad scripts, anything that delights my eyes. You know, things that speak for themselves.

Books: "It said what he would have said, if it had been possible for him to set his scattered thoughts in order...the best books, he perceived, are those that tell you what you know already." -Orwell, 1984

These things are really better discussed in real life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first illegal rooftop sunrise over the Sandias.

Teach, Learn, Share

Cooking, baking, walks or bike rides to the river and/or through the city, hair cutting and dying techniques, brewing, some sewing, uses of green chile, tea, coffee, why most people think electrical outlets look like small faces.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Germany, Luxembourg, Mexico, United States
