About Me

First of all, I would like to welcome everybody if I'm able to host! But if would be great of you know the difference between hospitality platforms and a hostel. Therefore if you're not keen to read my whole profile, you should at least read the last few words of the about me section...;)

***
I'm usually not at home as I travel as well full-time, but my family is most of the time at and there's enough space for fellow travellers! Don't expect last minute answers, but it sometimes also works in case you get lost in the middle of the black forest!
***

Flexible and spontaneous, for me the two most important things if I'm traveling. I don't plan to much, because I know that I will change it anyway all the time.
This has one main goal, freedom! Nobody will ever take my freedom and if I travel (especially on the bike) I experience ultimate freedom.
I love it to be on remote places, away from mass tourism and straight into nature. I most of the time life my motto, no risk, no fun ;)

I love adventures, the unknown and hate usually guided tours. I try to do as much as possible by myself, that makes it cheaper, usually more intense and I'm not chained on a timeframe. If I like a spot, I stay as long as I want and explore as much as I want, that's true freedom. Don't be dependent on anybody and without responsibilities.
A lot of people tell me frequently that I'm mad if I travel, but who isn't mad who's traveling :P
I like to just give things a go and learn something. If it works, good, if not try to make it better.

I also would say I got pretty alternative during my travels and much more connected to earth as ever before and the most of that just because I had the pleasure to meet amazing people. I think you learn all the time and as soon as you spend time with somebody you will take something with you on your way.

As I signed in, I thought it's just about 'free accommodation' and that's it. I didn't use it anyway, but after a while of traveling I realised what it is all about and started to use it, the only problem is it's quite hard to find somebody to exchange experience, chat or get accommodated if you're just flow, don't plan and don't know there you will end up. As I really got into traveling I also tried to find real travelers, adventurers and I think the chance to find somebody here on couch surfing is way higher to meet people like that. Good people, open minded people, even if it gets abused much more as well :)

To be sure that you are at least a bit interested and for the purpose of CS, your Message/Request should include the word FREEDOM ;)
Is case you're going to host me it would be also interesting to see if you read that or just accept people blind (good on you!) or just overfly a profile.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Looking for soulmates, adventurous, spontaneous and flexible travellers where I can meet again in another corner of the world and do some awesome trips together.
Hosting strangers who will be hopefully friends afterwards, giving back the same hospitality and love I recieved during my travels.
Try to change change the world in a better place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing was amazing. I was traveling with my bike and fundraising money and got put up in Clare, South Australia from Sara and Kym. They also organized a interview with a reporter of an local newspaper and printed me some little flyers to raise more money and we set up a homepage as well =)

Interests

All kinds of sports, mainly cycling, running, hiking and my lasted interest, mountaineering and all kinds of climbing.
Also of course the usual social stuff like going out, have fun, hangout and I don't mind drinking a couple of beers :)
I just like it to be outside, at least if there no thunderstrom coming up. I also love to sleep outside and wander around.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't really like TV I rather watch a movie in a cinema and I even started reading during my travels...

I try to don't waste my time with useless shit (except of sleeping a lot, chilling and take it easy :)), therefore I like to only watch movies now that inspire me, teach me or critical, alternative movies;

Gladiator, Troy, Into the wild, Braveheart, Everest, Touching the void,

The peaceful warrior,
Captain fantastic,
The green planet (La belle verte from Coline Serreau),
Plastic planet,
Bottled Water (Doku about Nestle stealing the most valueble good for an apple & an egg),
180° South,
Motorcycle Diaries,
Food Inc,

Educate yourself instead of watch only for entertainment, time is to valueble to waste for nothing!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Best things in life are free!

I haven't been watching TV for over 7 years already, one of the best decisions ever. Nothing to regret at all.

Cycling from Adelaide to Alice Springs via outback and desert, the real back roads! Ultimate Freedom!

Dipping in a ice cold partly frozen lake in the middle of a multiple day walk in the wilderness of New Zealand

Hitchhiking from a boat ramp to an island off the coast of Australia for a multiple day hike. Crossed a chest deep inlet in hope of no crocs and poisonous jellyfishes around and hitchhiked, or rather waved small boats down until one came over and brought my back on the mainland :)

Missed a flight, overstayed my Visa and had to do a massive almost 3000km hitchhike in order to leave the country before my extended visa expired as well with tonnes of gear (bike, trailer, backpack).

Camping on the edge of a couple of hundred metre sandstone cliff in the blue mountains, one of my favourite spots ever :)

Climbed Damavand Mountain (5600m a.s.l.) as the highlight of my 7 weeks MTB-Trip though Iran, including hitchhiking down (4000km) from Germany with the bike in only 7 days.

Every mountain I climbed! The reward at the summit, the quietness, the clear air, the adrenaline, the view and the happiness!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I can tell you plenty of stories and I can suggest you some great hiking and cycling in the area.
I can also take you with me (indoor) climbing if you want outdoor depends on the weather but there a spot pretty close :)

On the media we always get the impression that the world is an evil place, full of criminals and that one should never trust anybody. But if you go out, meet people in real, you will see that there are far more people who are just lovely, openhearted, openminded and very inspiring. Couchsurfing is a perfect way to experience that it is worth it to trust somebody you never met before because this stranger can become your friend in a very short period of time.
