About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To finish my Ph.D. !!!

ABOUT ME

What to say... I'm a Florida girl, love to travel, jog to relieve stress and not feel guilty about all the chocolate I consume, when I go out I like doing something like karaoke, salsa, or line-dancing. I'm also part of a local hash kennel.

PHILOSOPHY

I think you have to just live the way you want to live. I have long term goals but I can't put off doing all the things I love in the hopes that one day I'll have more time, money, etc. to do it more easily. I also have strong feelings about certain issues, but I keep them to myself unless asked, and I do not want to argue. I think conversation and hearing other people's opinions makes you grow, but I am not into debating.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just moved to the DC metro area and am trying to get to know more people. Attended a Free Hugs CS event where we went around hugging tourists near the National Mall. And have just gotten into hosting here now that I'm getting more settled in the new apartment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have met up with couchsurfers at events domestically and abroad, also have surfed and hosted. I like meeting new people, so I'm pretty much up for whatever.

Interests

I thought I already did this above?

  • dancing
  • chocolate
  • traveling
  • karaoke

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- probably a blend of 80s and 90s pop. The best concert I ever attended was The Police in the summer of 2007.
Books- right now I am reading a) a book on the history of the Everglades, b) a book on water management issues in the Eastern U.S., c) a historical account of a British ship that was sunk by a U-boat in WWII, and d) various statistical articles and resources.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked the Great Wall in China, I think probably the most amazing experience so far in my life. Seeing the men's final of the French Open live in Paris in 2007 was also pretty cool.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Cayman Islands, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Jamaica, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
