About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel at least 3 months per year....6 months is even better!

ABOUT ME

I am an IT Strategy Consultant who loves to be busy-to make use of every minute of my days. I am excited about everything that stimulates my creativity(architecture, theatre, art, photography...), has to do with sports(I can't live without volleyball, Tennis and Bouldering), or allows me to break out of my everyday routine (-->travelling)!

And if there is this unusual day, where I am not studying, partying, discovering, talking, or doing 100 things at the same time...I am dreaming of the Surfing Bar I want to open with my friend some day (built by myself-to be sure), or plan my conquest of Mars.

I am always open to learn new things and meeting new people. To hear of their experiences and cultures has interested me since I first took off by myself as a 15 year old High-School exchange student on the way to Utah and continued over my year as Nanny near San Francisco, and my experiences as an international student at Stanford University, Smith College and University of Melbourne.

I have just recently returned from 6 months of roaming around South America. This has been an amazing experience where I have met a lot of great people and fell in love with way too many countries.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy life! We life in an amazing world, with many opportunities and so many places to see. Don't just think about all the things you want to do, but just go out and do them! Life is to short to just spend everyday dreaming of life...It's time to live life, every second of it to the fullest!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Happy to offer my couch or second bedroom (if not taken over by friends) to couchsurfers. I love meeting people and am always keen to share my experiences and extensive knowledge of the cities I lived in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed for 6 months with a family in Spanish Fork Utah ass a High School exchange student, and lived one year as a live-in nanny near San Francisco.
Now I am ready to try something new...
Before going back to school in January I spent a few days couchsurfing in New York. It was an amazing experience to no just spent the night in some anonymous hotel room, but have the chance to meet some people who can give me a better perspective of this great city.

Interests

There are movies, sports, architecture, art, reading, writing, music, travelling, and 1000 more things that I try to fit within the 24 hours of everyday.

I am passionate about everything I do, and never tired of trying something new!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: The Night Circus, Amnesia Clinic, Time After Time, The Silkworm, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, most of the books by Julian Barnes and James Scudamore.

Movies: The list is far too long! I love movies, and I watch everything at least once, and sometimes give them a second chance, and a third one...I enjoy everything from the cheese romance to the scarriest thriller, as well as interesting docus and experimental movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are so many amazing things in this world, and I am so grateful for all those wonderful experiences I already got to enjoy...skydiving north of San Francisco on a beutiful day-seeing the whole Bay Area, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the endless ocean gleaming in the sun; spending a day at Maverick's with my friends, watching the waves going wild; Being able to stand up and surf a wave for the very first time; being the "second mum" for a little boy for a year, experiencing a sunset in a cabin in the mountains around Innsbruck, snowboard down a hillside on which nobody has left a trace yet in Tahoe, whitewater rafting on the most beautiful day on a river in the Berkshires...being surrounded by hundred thousands of water buffalos as I am driving through the Serengeti in the middle of Migration; Climbing Uhuru Peak, the summit of Kilimanjaro on the night/day of the new year, swimming with dolphins off the coast of Zanzibar, watching the sun set over the endless plain from the top of some rocks in northern Namibia, Swimming across the Orange river crossing the South African-Namibian border,... Life is wonderful:-)
