About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be a better listener.
ABOUT ME
Call me Ush ("Oosh")! I'm generally a pretty quiet and reflective person, but I really enjoy meandering conversation. Currently I study Neuroscience and Bioethics as a third-year at the University of Virginia, with plans on becoming a physician-scientist. These days, though, I wander books and places seeking to indulge my curiosity and learn from people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Traveler for now.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Learning a little from friends. Very little experience! I've couchsurfed informally once or twice, but always through connections I already had reasons to trust.
Interests
I LOVE science, but I'm pretty sure that it's possible to interest me in almost anything via conversation. People are too cool.
Random things I'm into: cooking, running, writing, reading, bad jokes, strained metaphors
Academics: science, medicine, inequality, poverty, ethics

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: depends on mood. I like to improvise on the piano so my bar for songs I won't listen to is set pretty low. These days I listen to a lot of indie / folk, rock, and jazz. Also have a thing for good singers.
Movies: I watch a bunch.
Books: All sorts. Love science writing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was in 5th grade, I became obsessed with Charles Darwin and submitted a 12-page book report on his autobiography in lieu of the assigned 2-page report on a work of fiction.
