About Me
CURRENT MISSION
start settling in Costa de Caparica, the perfect combination of beach and Lisbon
ABOUT ME
Back in Lisbon - or better Costa de Caparica and not only for a winter. The basic change in my life is, that after 7 years of nomadic life I rented an empty appartment close to the beach and start to have my personal home base. That way I hopefully can give something in return to all the hospitable people I met during the last years. And going sailing several month a year will probably satisfy my nomadic side.
PHILOSOPHY
From time to time it's great to relativate things. As my dad used to say after endless and not constructive conversations: planet-historically seen human being plays a minor role....
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
After digesting the shock of the B-corp thing and realizing that my CS-world does not seem to change I see it like that: CS is what we make of it.NEW!!! I DO have a bed to offer now, and a lot of other things! Just as(k) my view on Lisbon and the rest of the world, my time to organize anything, my idea, why English language does not know the difference between live (morar) and live (viver), I can cook, listen and last but not least repair your flute.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In pre-CS-times many times I was glad that somebody offered me a dry safe place to sleep for free. And I have never regret up to now when I hosted somebody. You get so much input and friends!
Now that I joined Couchsurfing it makes the whole process easier and quicker. A stunning experience was Budapest to me. CS is not only a way to find a place to stay. Even more important is the access that it offers you to a strange city, where you have never been before and you don´t know the language of! This I experienced in a very positiv way in Budapest, which has a great community. And in Sao Paulo, where you were lost otherwise. And Lisbon...where nobody just comes once in lifetime...Lisbon has an interesting and stable comunity with great core people, who really care about Lisbon's visitors.
Interests
Music and languages, being outside at the seaside, where I can feel the wind, cinemateca in Lisbon and cinema elsewhere, food, cooking events, wine, coffee
Trying to do things, that make sense (to me :)
And here I am hiding my occupation: flute maker, mech.eng.-technician, translator, sailor, who knows, what comes more...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
With the time it becomes hard to decide... In 2007 I travelled on my own on my bicycle from Holland to Spain and back - a pretty amazing experience and I would do it again! But the dunes in Maranhao in Brazil in 2009 with their breeze and the rain kind of topped it - I thought - until I experienced the feeling of having arrived home, when I discovered Sao Miguel, the sea, the whales and some really good friends. The peace of bicycling through Estonia-in company.
