We aren't open to hosting from June 2023 through December 2023. We'll see about 2024. We also host for workaway.info and summers are a busy time for those travelers also.

Make new friends and have more fun in life! We love couchsurf hosting but host people through Workaway.info right now. That's been fun, too.

ABOUT ME

An ordinary middle-aged couple who offers a safe haven for travelers of all faiths, cultures, and orientations. Pets welcome! Devout Latter-day Saints (aka Mormons), so our home is free of tobacco, drugs, alcohol, and porn. We love to learn about your home and your experiences. We will eat vegan or vegetarian during your visit if it makes you more comfortable.

Bud's a regular guy who likes to meet new people. He enjoys mtn. biking, hiking in the desert,and adventures of all kinds. He's also a pretty good cook and enjoy preparing meals for others. Looks forward to your visit!

Carol is also an outdoors lover, women's leader, family historian, and crafter. Pets welcome--we have 2 dogs who get along fine with others. We both work full time but sometimes we can get away to show you around. We have a washer, dryer, and clotheslines, so if you need to do laundry, bring it in when you arrive and we'll send you on your way with fresh clothes!

The nearest major airport is Las Vegas; the shuttle bus costs about $35 one-way and takes 2 hrs to get here.

PHILOSOPHY

Our purpose on earth is to love one another. We like to offer people a safe haven while traveling. We have been "first hosts ever" for many of our guests and we hope to leave a great impression of Couchsurfing for them!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have hosted people from several states and other countries and are loving it! We have surfed only once, to Prince Edward Island, and it was great!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All three of our adult children love couch surfing, both as surfers and as hosts! We are enjoying hosting for now and hope to travel more in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

Carol-my favorite movie is Harold and Maude. I love listening to ALL kinds of books on audio because I tend to go-go-go and get sleepy when I try to read at the end of a long day. Favorite movies are romantic comedies.
Bud-loves action movies, Three Stooges, and comedies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one? PUHLEEZE! Carol: Joined the Mormon Church in 1977; climbed Donnelly's Dome in Alaska while 7 months pregnant; had my first baby in an ambulance at 63 below zero (no doctor); built 2 wooden sailboats in Maine; bulldozer mechanic in the Army for 4 years; hitchhiked across the U.S. twice; raised two amazing children (one now married to a wonderful woman so we now have 3); visited Poland for 10 days for our son's wedding; stayed married for 38 years!

Teach, Learn, Share

Carol is a fairly skilled scrapbooker, which means the combining of journaling with photos and other memorabilia. She can show you examples of her work and perhaps inspire you to take that web blog you're making and turn it into a real book your grandkids can hold and enjoy!
