Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a great idea to bring people together. I hope to meet people who actually live in the places I visit instead of meeting the same kind of people over and over again in some random hostel somewhere in the world. I think the people who live in a country make travelling interesting and not the 400th - oh so spectactular - waterfall (don't get me wrong - I nevertheless definitely like waterfalls).

Interests

When I'm in Freiburg I spend quite some time at our 'Fachschaft' - in english I guess that would be the students' coucil or students' representation - we are students who organise events and parties for their fellow students, talk to lectureres if there are problems and represent all students of the department in official panels etc.

Besides that I like trying out new sports and enjoy climbing, hiking, swimming, going on a run from time to time and would love to continue doing Ju Juitsu or basketball - sadly I never really find the time.

Furthermore, I like learning new languages, travelling, meeting new people from other cultural backgrounds and experiencing the world.

I also enjoy having a good wine or beer with friends, cooking with friends or just walking through town, having a good conversation about life, the world and why there is no ghanaian restaurant in Freiburg.

Music, Movies, and Books

At some point I realised that most of the music I really like is somehow branded 'Indie' - Indierock, Indiepop, Indie-whatever - however, I enjoy a broad range of music styles - from Jazz over Metal or Hiphop to House etc. I love spending the evening at a good concert and discovering a new band.

Movies...I think I don't really have a favorite movie or prefer a certain genre. I like action movies but also movies that make you think. The last movie I watched at the cinema was Colonia dignidad. One of the most interesting movies I watched in the last year was 'Projekt A'.
