Interests

MUSIC, the big one, especially Gil Scott Heron, Jamie Cullum, Sting, Jonny Lang, Rolling Stones, Angie Stone, India Arie etc. but also Lang Lang, and some classical music
DANCING: great way to empty the mind and get exhausted
READING: I love all sorts of literature: from Goethe to Rilke to Grass to Enzensberger , my German stuff, to Peter Abrahams (RSA), Wole Soyinka and Chinua Achebe (Nigeria), to Tsitsi Ndangarembwa (Zimbabwe) to Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens and Noam Chomasky and Arundhati Roy ...from Mohamed Hanif to Toni Morrisson to Yasmina Khadra....the list is really long!
PHILOSOPHY: Bertrand Russel, and the old guys from greece (Sokrates, Platon,Aristoteles) but also Hanna Arendt, Judith Butler,and the German lot: Schopenhauer,Kant , Hegel)...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Namibia: walking involuntarily in the desert for 8 hours following an accident and feeling no fear and survived.
Morocco: watching the stars at night in the desert - absolutely amazing
Danube: cycling along the danube
Zimbabwe: a morning drive in the Hwange national park...see the animals awake: breathtaking.
