Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For someone who harbours dreams of bumming around the world like an urban nomad, I can't squeeze out enough time for traveling. And for me, one of the highlights of traveling is meeting people of diverse nationalities coming from varied cultural backgrounds. Couchsurfing is a great way to make up for this aspect of travel. Nothing quite like showing another traveller around your city and making a lifelong friend in the process.

Music, Movies, and Books

For an avid traveller like myself, 'On The Road' by Jack Kerouac is an obvious choice. I also enjoy the works of Alan Sillitoe, and am currently sifting through post war German literature and Anglo - Saxon literature.

My playlist resembles more or less a music festival; artists from across the globe feature prominently. Think 'Rixton' to 'Lykke Li'; and timeless classics like 'The Beatles' and 'Fleetwood Mac'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was attending the Holland Village festival at Kerkgatre, and was nearly broke. Spent the little remaining money I had on a Dutch craft brew. Knew it was a bad decision in retrospect, but still chuckle every time I think about it. And needless to say, had to hitchhike my way back.
