I am researching about the relationship between human beings and nature, intercultural ways of living and publishing about it.

ABOUT ME

I am interested in history, politics, fantasy, the conflict between human beings and nature. Married with an iranian sociologist, I am actually studying the cultural history and relationship between occident and orient. Another main topic is indigenous peoples, especially Native Americans. Iam working as a journalist, writer and lecturer and like most the mixture between researching, traveling and intercultural experience as reflected cultural anthropology. I love wild animals, especially wolves and big cats, made my PhD about Zoo History, write fantasy and horror literature, like painting, sculptures.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am enthusiastic for intercultural relationships and want to learn. Therefore I want to be in touch with the real life of the people and do not want to be kept in distance by living in a hotel.

I would show travellers my hometown Hannover where I worked as historian and guide and know many hidden places in and around the town, forests, swamps, rare birds, the museums, zoological gardens.

We have a garden hut; there is water in the garden from March to October. It is an oven inside with firewood and a gas oven to cook. There we could host guests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent much time with people in Africa, the Americas and Europe where I lived in their home and they lived in mine. It was not with couchsurfing but the same idea.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Travelled many thousandmiles in the Southwest USA. One day I drove through the desert of Arizona in the Navajo Reservation. In the sun of the early afternoon it was like a dream with open eyes. I imagined to be here just by feet, wearing a gun, a knife and water. I looked over the turqoise sage bushes on the dark soil which seemed like in a surrealist painting. There was no gasoline station, I drove miles and miles without meeting anyone, just some coyotes crossed the horizon. I crossed an small Navajo village and turned south. Just a country road, the desert and me. The sun painted the soil in pink and purple.
And then? The car stopped. There was no petrol inside anymore. Should I be depressed? In the first moment I was. In the second I thought: "Now I do what I dreamt about." I put my five liter water box in the one hand and an empty box for petrol in the other. The village was nearly 12 miles away. I walked with a cowboy hat on my head through the arid land, my fear was there but I enjoyed the wide horizon, and I imagined to be wanderer 200 years ago somewhere in the West. I walked and walked and I felt a pain in my shoulder from a sunburn. Suddenly a pick up came from the South. Four Navajos sat inside. They stopped and asked me where I want to go to. I told them that I was looking to get petrol. They took me with them, brought me to a petrol station in the village, brought me back than the pontiac and I had my adventure in the west - for my irresponsibility.

I work as lecturer and journalist about history, wild animals, fantasy, literature and culture critics. I love to talk and tell about these topics. My main issues are the realtionship between men and nature, American indigenous people´s, tribal cultures, criminalistics. I am interested in many aspects of history from ancient times to contemporary history, teach and learn about. Actually I learn Farsi and read about Persian History of the antique and the rising of the Islam, the decline of the Roman Empire, global migration in the past and what we can learn in or days about it. These topics and more I would share with guests

Nature walks in the surroundings of Hanover and Lower Saxony, fine places for bird watching, forests, swamps and hidden places, wild animal parks, animal rescue center, Zoological garden; in Hanover city tour about Weimar Republic, trips to the Landesmuseum, Wilhelm Busch Museum, Historical museum, Herrenhausen Palace, town hall and Hanover Linden, the alternative quarter, meetings at the British Pub Jack the Ripper´s, trips to Steinhuder Meer, Deister mountains and much more.
