ABOUT ME
Hei hei everyone!
As you can tell my name is Barbara. I'm German and American; I spent half of my life in each country. And I love them both. A lot! But there's more to the world than 2 countries. So I want to explore the beautiful world and am currently doing so as an intern in Bordeaux, France.
I'm really flexible and love trying out new ideas and things. Today I go jogging. Tomorrow I watch comedies. On Sunday I dance all day. Who knows... I don't!!!
I love smiling and being happy :D Life is pretty sweet, I'm lucky to always be in such an amazing place with amazing people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've done a fair amount of couchsurfing during this past year (study abroad in Germany :) CSing (through the website) in Budapest, Goteborg, Nürnberg, München, Berlin and Bonn was an awesome, enriching and unique was to explore Europe's greatest cities and meet the coolest people! I've also been staying with friends and family on their couches, floors, tents, etc for many many years (aka non-formal CSing :)! `

Movies: Goodbye Lenin, Little Miss Sunshine, Deutschland ein Sommermärchen, La vita è bella
Music: a bit of everything but especially pop, world or classical music. It really depends on my mood :) I love exploring new types of music
Books: Der Vorleser, the Jungle Books, L'élegance du hérisson, Harry Potter and a long long list *** I love reading; feel free to share any favorite books!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I wake up every morning and see awesome things. That's pretty amazing!
Teach, Learn, Share
Wow! My family's hosted a lot of exchange students and I've stayed with host families in Russia and France before! Plus I've visited a lot of friends in Germany and just love traveling and learning! But I am always willing to share things about my own cultures (fun fact: not all Americans are fat and carry guns! Not all Germans wear Lederhosen and drink beer!).
I love random language phrases. I should pick a phrase and learn how to say it in every language (like "My shoelaces have pink frogs on them" :)
And I also can't wait to host people when I finally have my own place!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My flexibility around your schedule, a yummy pancake (or similar) breakfast, help with doing dishes and cleaning up after myself.
I'm also glad to help with English, German or French.
And once I've graduated college and moved out of my teeny tiny room (think barely enough room for me) you're welcome to be my guest!
