ABOUT ME

Hi there, I'm Veerle and I'm a dutch architecture student who enjoys traveling. I've lived abroad for 3 semesters now, Florence, Goteborg and most recently Sydney but am based in Amsterdam/Delft normally. These next months ill be backpacking trough Australia, new Zealand and Indonesia before returning back home.

I try to enjoy life as much as possible. There are so many great, fun and awesome things you can do in the world and there is so much I haven't done yet. So that's my plan, try to get the best out of life! And i love to share that with other people.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I new to all this, but i think it is a great initiative. Now im traveling but I hope to be able to provide a soft couch when I get back home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None through CS yet, but while living in Sydney we had travelers over almost every weekend and that was always fun and made interesting conversation. So I hope to experience it now myself and hopefully will be able to provide a couch when im back in Amsterdam.

Interests

I love being around people and enjoying each others company and conversation. I hope to meet new openminded people who can tell me (personal) stories about their own town and would love to give them mine. I study Architecture and have studied 3 times a semester abroad, which was a great way to meet new people with different backgrounds. I like music, art, cinema, culture, architecture, design and traveling of course. Going into town and having a great time, strolling through a city, drinking coffee at a bar, visiting a flea-market, pass by an exhibition, playing guitar in the park, partying till early in the morning. Im up for it!

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite movies are Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, Snatch, Mr.Nobody, The Darjeeling Limited, Fear and loathing in Las Vegas to give an idea.

Music in general is just a wonderful thing. I love old music (a la Doors, Hendrix, Kinks, Lou reed etc), Singer/songwriter folk music (Fleet foxes, Devendra banhart, Tallest man on earth), experimental electronics (Mount Kimbie, Bibio), techno/minimal/electro and jazz oh great jazz.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I managed to get to the other side of the world and met so many great people while doing so, that I believe I can go anywhere and meet awesome poeple, cause they are everywhere!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning new languages and would be happy to teach some of the ones I know. Also I enjoy cooking, but only when I cook for other people because I find nothing as boring as cooking alone,. So maybe exchange some secret recipes?
