HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined in 2005 and hosted a few members back then (sadly, their comments were deleted by a 2014 website upgrade), then stayed with Couchsurfers in Milano (where I was adopted by an incredible gang of Iranian girl!) and Barcelona in the fall of 2014.
I also helped a bit with organising the Paris Couchsurfing Rendez-Vous, deejayed at the goodbye party both in 2014 and 2015.

I wish to travel more often and meet new people, make new friends.

Intereses

one-armed deejaying, dancing, doodlin', serious chopsticks practice, bad photography, ol' movies, cool visual arts...

I'm curious of the non-touristic things in the countries I visit : underground parties and artistic projects, meeting people, spending time together...
I also enjoy landmarks, countryside and museums, but I don't need to systematically check everything on the "10 things to see in town" lists.

independant movies, decent blockbusters, old black and white movies, comedies, film noir, science fiction and fantasy (when the stories are good), british humour, animated flicks (Japanese or not)...
BOOKS
British + American novels (pretty much all genres)... but I also like Boulgakov, Zweig, Gogol, Mishima... And comic books!
TELEVISION + RADIO
films, TV series, history documentaries, rugby matches, The Daily Show + S.Colbert + R.Maddow + K.Olbermann...
BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 7, podcasts (DJ mixes, France Inter, This American Life, The History Of Rome...)

Travel halfway around the world only to find an old friend from home I hadn't seen for over ten years, right in the middle of a party!

I like cooking but I don't know that many recipes. still, I can fix a decent pad thai or improvise a ceviche. wouldn't mind learning a few new tricks, though.
