About Me

“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.”

Had enough of soul-strangling job, grey boring Scottish city and vain people. And I don't really know what I want to do with the rest of my life at the moment. I am just sure that I don't want to continue existing in this boring routine.

I want to travel, meet new people, get to know their culture, to enrich my way of thinking and improve my understanding of life, by doing this. In the end, I want to have some cool stories to tell to my grandchildren

PHILOSOPHY

“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is excellent way to thoroughly experience different cultures, get to know different people and make friends, to explore non-tourist places,

Music, Movies, and Books

Good music is not limited by the style boundaries. I used to be more into indie (Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Snow Patrol, Muse), then I discovered The XX, and turned more into electronic music (James Blake, Nicolas Jaar, Jamie Woon, Khat). Sometimes I listen to oldies like Etta James, Sam Cooke, Bill Withers, Louis Armstrong, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Tom Jones. Sometimes deep house like Solomun, Maceo Plex, Daniel Avery, Kolsch, Nina Kraviz.

Love historic, war movies, documentaries, etc. Touching the Void, Beyond the Edge, The Wall of Death, Montage of the Heck, Waltz with Bashir, City of God

Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky
