Chi sono
I only host people that have read my whole profile and if I can tell from their message they have read it. No copy / paste requests please.
2020: Decided to start hosting more, since have nice own apartment now. :) Prefer to host only one person, due to space constraints and other practical reasons. Almost always only people with at least one or more references from a host, but if you are exceptionally kind/reliable, I do make exceptions.
Into leading a life less ordinary.
Love hanging out and showing people amazing (underground) Berlin. Tons of fun, unique things to experience! Also good if you can enjoy going out and entertaining yourself for part of the day(s), since I am a night-owl and in mornings do most of my work from home. I love to befriend and pet dogs/cats. Born in Santiago, lived there 5 years, then Netherlands, now 7 years in Berlin.
My ideal Couchsurfer is helpful, mentally stable, positive and mature no matter their age, emphatic, omnivore. 50/50 in terms of talking and listening, will totally bike around Berlin instead of using public transport, even in winter. Likes some beers or shots or some 420 and other things now and then but not in Berlin to Tinder, nor to go to 3+ museums or typical tourist/consumption stuff, nor here to go clubbing and get utterly wasted on drugs plus super drunk all night/every night. Is not fussy about bars and venues being (only) fancy or super clean, loves to see, try and taste new things! :)
I try to be/do: friendly, passionate, sociable and easy to talk to. Am experienced. Hosted about 80 people outside of Couchsurfing. Free. Occasionally wild. Zen and the Art of Motorcycle maintenance, atheist. Lived in about 20 large cities. I like Diogenes, Socrates and Plato but also Sam Harris, Iggy Pop, Doug Stanhope and Joe Rogan (sorta). Give a little more than you receive. Leave the earth and a small place on it a little better than you found it, or a lot better if you can swing it.
Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing
Showing people great, cheap: eating, second hand shopping, concert and socializing spots, subcultural stuff, hidden green spots/parks, quirky stores, punk, diy and squat stuff, rock jam sessions, unusual bars, places to play ping pong or foosball.
Into hospitality/sharing economy for while now, my surfers were (almost) always interesting, fun and inspiring. Surfing myself has been stellar e.g.: went to London. 3 minutes of the train, smack in the centre of financial London I spoke to dude that I had good feeling about. Five minutes later we rock up to a huge, beautiful, 300 year old building, person opens door, we chat bit "Yep! Stay as long as you want, here's the key, we are about to have dinner and would you like some tea?!". We fixed their bikes, helped with food, expenses and chores. Some great, lively parties and people, huge critical masses. Few days later stayed with Penny Rimbaud (of CRASS fame) in his permaculture, 400 year old farmhouse on idyllic land in Epping forest https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dial_House,_Essex Couchsurfing and hostelling in Bangkok, Barcelona, DomRep, Vietnam for many months each.

Musica, film e libri
Everything from Ska, Punk, some Pop, Otis Redding, to Trash/Death Metal, Elektro, Singer Songwriter, Funk to Aphex Twin and all in between. I play most of those styles at least a little. Podcasts! Underground, Art house or any intelligent film that makes you think or tear up or appreciate and learn something. Even Cowgirls get the Blues, Catch 22, Bukowski, How to be Free, Orwell, Catcher in the Rye, Simplify your Life, autobiographies and much more.
Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
Helped about 2000 (semi-) homeless people to a home, including single moms, troubled teens and more, through volunteer work. Visited 40+ countries. Seen complete strangers, small girls and tough burly men with huge smiles dance and hug spontaneously at wiiild but friendly concerts and carry me aloft for what seemed forever after soaring through the air. Opened my own bike shop and happily sold it six months later. Auditioned and accepted to play guitar for a somewhat famous band. Played a number of very good live shows. In late 2020 cycled from Pula to Dubrovnik.
Insegna, impara, condividi
I like to teach cooking skills, swimming, bike repair, tech stuff, DIY, plumbing, guitar and bass playing, sustainable consumption, writing, squatting and a little film making and a little bit of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. If you can teach me about leading an even better, more free life or you have insights on any practical, real life or philosophical skills, i'd be fascinated. Or if we can play/sing music together.
Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa
See above. I like to help out, learn/teach, clean and chip in. I feel it is the least you can do if someone hosts you. Got a bike that needs fixing, need help with PC, want to build something simple from wood, need an academic paper edited or some stuff moved,.. etc, i am your guy! :)
