ABOUT ME

Liz: I am an avid long distance runner. I commute to and from work by bike and really enjoy the outdoors. I also really like experiencing new places hence the reason I spent 3 years teaching abroad.

Kirsten: I am a big fan of soccer, I play recreationally and use long distance running as my "cross training". I love trail running and hiking in the wonderful mountains of BC.

K&L: Liz introduced Kirsten to biking and we have been trying to plan longer trips. We biked from Nanaimo to Victoria and had our first CS experience which was an awesome trip. For our unofficial honeymoon, we went bike camping to Pender Island. We also love to play board games, Rayman Legends on PS3 and schoolyard games out in the parks (tag/red light-green light/ninja/twister). We enjoy hosting small dinner parties, or tea parties, except for the massive American Thanksgiving that Kirsten prepares annually. We love to cook new recipes and try new foods.
We enjoy experiences that help us learn new things or see something from a different perspective.

Flash: Our cat rescued from the streets of Kuwait. He's very chatty and loves to sit on guests to be petted -- and he'll complain about his day (probably spent sleeping). Flash does also enjoy a somewhat active night life bouncing around the apartment and "singing" his own theme song. He's not a quiet cat but he is very sweet and cuddly.

Jimbu: A loving but shy cat we adopted from VOKRA as a friend for Flash. Another name for Jimbu could've been "Bolt" as he flies from one side of the apartment to the other if his ears or nose detects food. A voracious appetite and sweet disposition, Jimbu is always finding ways to play and justify cats' number one position on the internet.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting and surfing -- only travelling occasionally at the moment so creating good energy and enjoying the community by hosting here in Vancouver.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have enjoyed meeting people through CS and look forward to meeting more fun folks!

Liz: drawing, learning new instruments, music, learning how to take things apart and rebuild them, keeping the brain and body active in general, photography.

Kirsten: Sci-fi & fantasy tv shows/movies, soccer, alpine skiing, swimming, sewing (quilts mainly but some clothes alterations), cat videos, coffee.

L&K: Running, cycling and fitness, Hiking outdoors, Travelling, reading, Sherlock Holmes, musicals, theatre, Zombie walks.

Flash: chasing strings, balls of paper, stuffing his head into shoes, OMG BOXES!!, lying on yoga mats during workout sessions.

Jimbu: feathers and string!! Boxes, boxes, boxes and displaying my inner squirrel! Little balls of fluff, that noise over there, chasing moths.

L: Taught in Kuwait and wants to travel more.
Hiked to the top of Black Tusk.
L/K: Hiked to the top of The Lions. Cycled from Nanaimo to Victoria. Fostered kittens through VOKRA.
K: Scored a goal from an indirect kick.
Flash: Conned Liz into adopting me. Flew from Kuwait to Canada.
Jimbu: Learned how to jump from the floor to the kitchen counter. Oddly, L/K don't find this to be as amazing as I do.
