About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live in peace and harmony with nature. To learn more about other cultures. Create friendships, to laugh and learn.

ABOUT ME
I love nature and looking out and seeing beautiful views and wildlife. I like working here on the farm and riding my horses but also like getting away and seeing new countries, cities and meeting new people. I have two Airbnb's Cottages that I rent out and I also teach a Horsemanship Experience. I am the Science Tutor at the local Vocational school.

PHILOSOPHY

Carpe Diem!! (And go for a horse ride:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Pre-Couchsurfing, I stayed with three exchange students that I met in High School from Germany while back-packing through Europe for 2 1/2 months as well as staying with German and Swedish relatives. I have found the best way to experience a country and culture is through staying with friends and family. Now, since finding couch-surfer I've been able to meet new friends throughout the U.S. and World including: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Wales, England, Scotland....

Interests

I love walking through big cities and exploring the area, people and food. I like to explore new countries by biking, walking or on horse-back.
In Ohio, I especially like competing in Eventing and long distance riding with my horses. I also am active in choirs and theater.
When I'm traveling, I enjoy being near the water; lakes, oceans, rivers, swimming, kayaking. Mountain and scenic views are inspiring to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mystery books, Autobiographical/Adventure books, Young Adult fantasy, The Classics. Masterpiece Theater. Inspirational, Historical books, movies and Documentaries.
I play guitar and sing Folk music and enjoy listening to Celtic and Classic 79's 80's music.
I sing German songs with the Männechor and sing with other choir groups and Theater/Musicals.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 2 1/2 months back-packing in Europe, working/living rough out on a mountain in Nevada for the summer, skiing under the Matterhorn, Colorado and Montana. Taking train trips across the U.S. and Europe, Fox-hunting in Pennsylvania/Ohio and completing a Training 3-Day Horse Trial event and 50 mile Endurance races on my horses. I was an Exchange student to Sweden.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my humor and love of people and language.
I have completed a TEFL class and would enjoy teaching others English.
I want to learn to speak Swedish and German better.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can make a wonderful Stir Fry dinner and play and sing a tune on a guitar.
As I teacher, I love telling stories and sharing insights about life and politics.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bahamas, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Scotland, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Wales
