About Me

CURRENT MISSION

planning our Dutch tandem bike trip, really starting brainstorming about that thesis

ABOUT ME

VADALMA means Wild Apple. We have a saying "You're grinning like a wild apple". I smile a lot, so in case I have these ups and downs, I get the critiques immediately that I lost my smile somewhere. I've also been told that I'm naive. And also that I'm devoted. And also that I'm eigenwijs.

I used to have a colleague who was always able to tell in 1 sentence what I was talking about in the last 5 minutes or what I meant by that. Feel free to warn me if I get too chatty.

PHILOSOPHY

May you have strict values, be always stricter to yourself. I apply this to the level that I now seem to have switched off automatisms of self-defence, i.e. "No, no, it's not their fault, I might misunderstand something, they surely didn't mean that....." etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I advertise CS to everyone in whom I see fantasy :)

Interests

Interested in people who have managed to find a solution for something I'm still struggling with.

Hobbies: I'm currently a member of an amateur choir in Budapest. We sing classical, and a lot of Church music (mostly contemporary these days), hope that the repertoire would move to include more secular texts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

flower fields in Holland, view on Basilica from the bridge on the border of Slovakia-Hungary, superintelligent toilets in Japan, colour of cold sea in Northwestern Europe, swimming at night in the North Sea, awesome mountains of Norway and how boring they are for Northern village dwellers, colour of hills of rape fields then distant greyish blue woods then grassy green meadows chasing each other in May in Central Europe, the way Greek people can spin their rosaries, the taste of Flemish dialects spoken by elderly ladies, sleeping in a trunk in a garage, Croatian roads high up along the seaside

Teach, Learn, Share

I have good ears to note the chords of a music piece you like, so that you can play in on the guitar, for instance.
I can teach you how to make Hungarian goulash.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Culinary gifts from Hungary, though home-made alcohol in very-very limited amounts if I arrive by plane, due to space limits. Otherwise, feel free to let me know what you prefer. After all, you'll be my host, which I truly appreciate. I'm open to programmes with my hosts like sightseeing of course or meeting your friends or cooking together - let me know if I should cook something for dinner that's typical in my homeland, why not invite your friends as well so that we can have a big club of cosy chatters.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden

Countries I’ve Lived In
