ABOUT ME
My life-changing trips across Europe and Canada are over now. Whats next? Asia looks good. Australia too. There's always Latin America. While I finish my Master's degree, it is time to give back to the world of Couchsurfing! Let me know how I can help, fellow traveller.
I am living in Vancouver, studying international relations and economics. During winter can be found in Whistler skiing, during summer, at the beach. In between, look for me at the gym, friends house, or the library. If nowhere else, check local pubs that have a good live music scene.
PHILOSOPHY
i believe in the power of perception: "life is what you perceive it to be" was once said to me and remembered. this belief gives me the power to control how i react to my surrounding and helps me stay positive. if i could mix up a few songs to sound like my "personal philosophy", it would be John Lennon's "Imagine", Ben Harper's "With My Own Two Hands" and a third song, which doesn't exist but if it did, it would be co-written by Clapton, Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel and preformed by a joint effort of Pink Floyd and The Doors.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I think that meeting people from around the globe broadens horizons and promotes worldwide peace and understanding.
Interests
For a long time, the driving interest in my life was: "change the world!" You know, make it a better place than it is now. On so many levels. I'm talking about peace, social justice, environment, income distribution, poverty, health issues. Basically, I wanted to get the UN Millennium Development Goals accomplished a year early, and single handedly. This was both the journey and the destination for me, it defined what I did. Ambitious? A little bit. THEN, I grew up. Became more educated and saw a ton of this world I wanted to change. Had a plethora of formal and experiential educational experiences, read, listened and lived as much as possible and people, met lots of people. Everybody has an opinion about something. Worth listening to. Now that I am leaving the idealistic comforts of university behind, my new goal is a little bit different: "CHANGE THE WORLD!" Turns out, it's not too late :D

Music, Movies, and Books
all music appeals to me and has its time and place. currently im reading lots of classics, trying to read one from every country i go to. foreign films are neat but hollywood has its moments too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbing a mountain to 3,500m and the skiing down! oh and swimming with phosphorescence in the night; the effects of water and light mixed together are mind blowing. snorkling in the Black Sea. learning to surf was a dream come true. Skiing the ALPS! alone in the Sistine Chapel for about 4 minutes.
Teach, Learn, Share
Lets share a good story or two in exchange for a smile (or two)
Actual skills that I can teach are skiing, swimming, climbing, paddling, economic analysis, foreign policy analysis. Always have been more of a learner than a teacher.
