I am climbing my way across North America, visiting as many of the continent's great climbing destinations as I can in a year.

ABOUT ME

I'm a geek who loves to climb. I spent 12 years working as a software developer (most recently Java development for a catalog retail company), discovered a love of climbing, and decided to quit my job and take a year or so off to climb. Right now, I am embracing life and whatever it has to offer me. I'm enjoying traveling to new places, seeing the country, and meeting tons of wonderful new people.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in embracing life, enjoying the moment, and, generally living for the now. Living this philosophy is new to me, but I have never felt so free and happy.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was in college, in Columbia, Missouri, I lived in a basement apartment with two high school friends. The "cave" became a local punk hangout, and more than a few travelers crashed there. The door was always open to anyone who could behave like a decent human being (and our definition of that was rather broad). I ended up staying in San Francisco with someone who had crashed at the cave for a while. It's great how what goes around comes around.
