About Me
Bonjour!
After 10 years living abroad, I came back to France to live in (near) Paris for the first time.
I come from a small village in the north-west French countryside and I lived in Rennes where I studied, Nantes and Toulouse where I worked.
My international experience started in Belfast (N. Ireland) where I moved in 2006, worked and incidentally learned English.
I also discovered my passion for learning and teaching, a masochistic passion since I decided to go for a PhD on e-learning in Tokyo in 2011.
My research involved social media, motivation and new technologies.
After graduating and getting married, I moved back to France in Paris where I am still settling down.
That's why I'm currently unable to host but I'm always happy to meet and chat.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I first heard about CS from Ludovic Hubler, a French guy who travelled the world by hitch-hiking during 5 years, and I immediately thought this was a great idea.
Then I signed up and I started to host before surfing because I didn't expect people to host me if I didn't host myself before.
That's why I mostly hosted people so far in Belfast.
In Tokyo it was more difficult but I joined some regular meetings and met many friends.
Hosting or being hosted by people never met before is a source of surprises and my experiences so far are really good.
Sharing travelling experiences is a great hobby and it's even more interesting to talk about the meetings made during these trips.
Even the couple of bad experiences I had while hosting in Belfast are funny to talk about now so my CS experience is really positive.
Interests
I love to learn.
I'm always trying to read, watch, discover new things.
That's maybe why I like traveling too of course.
I like to share any traveling experience with people.
What is great in travelling is all the things and experiences we remember and tell everytime we talk about trips.
Even the greatest failures is what you tell the most afterwards.

Music, Movies, and Books
Noir Desir is my favourite band but I listen to many different kinds of music (reggae, classic, rock...)
Beirut, Red Hot, N.O.H.A., Gorillaz, Gramatik, Radiohead, Police, Thiefaine, Portishead, Blur, Odetta, M, Beatles, Nirvana, Skatalites...
My tastes in cinema are also quite wide but I like movies that gives a nice message or simply giving emotions we can remember (Dead Poets Society, Fight Club, Yes Man, Ne le dis a personne, Snatch, Shawshank Redemption, L'auberge espagnole, Looking for Eric, Old Boy, Imitation Game, and many many more!)
As for books, but also in general, I like to learn, so I like to read things that I can learn from.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Got PhD graduated and married within 2 months (took several years to build though...)
Climbed Machu Picchu in Peru and Mount Fuji in Japan within the same year.
Learned Japanese by myself and by chatting with friends but without classes or notebooks. CS meetings were very useful for that!
Refused to leave Tokyo after the earthquake on March 11, 2011. Given the amount of people who left, my decision looked amazing for some people. Beside I joined a volunteer group in Kesennuma in Miyagi and received an amazing message from this experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
As previously said I love to learn.
So I'm happy to share and receive anything about language, cooking, culture, music... anything.
As long as you have passion in something, I'll most likely be interested to hear about it.
