ABOUT ME

I'm an open-minded free spirit who is all about spontaneity and laughing (a lot). I write a fair amount of poetry that is not bad, and dabble in art which is sometimes bad. I have no idea what I want to do with my life, except that I want to be happy. I'm working on this all the time, and hope I'll stumble across something vibrantly shiny and know it when I find it.

PHILOSOPHY

People should be happy and do what makes them happy, so long as they're not hurting other people in the process. Being friendly is a lot more rewarding than being mean. Taking chances is the only way to move forward; making mistakes stops one from sticking stagnant.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed most of a summer a couple of years ago, once thanks to this site, and otherwise thanks to the chance will of the wind. I also used couchsurfing on my trek back to the east coast.

I hosted travelers and wanderers quite frequently while living in Portland, and would love to continue to meet the wonderful, eclectic people that such situations bring. :)

Intereses

Oh goodness. I love nature, dancing (non-serious dancing is better), swimming, hiking, crafting, writing, reading, laughing, volunteering. um, ah.....origami, jigsaw puzzles, climbing trees, old books, playing dress-up, collaging, building things.... whatever else interests me at the moment.

Música, películas y libros

I listen to a lot of Cat Power, Nick Cave, and Ratatat. I also like spoken word a la Andrea Gibson.

I read an eclectic assortment of books, although I particularly like children's books (which I'd like to write one day) and books about quantum physics, astronomy, and anthropology. Also, Julio Cortazar and Adrienne Rich.

I don't watch as many movies as I'd like.... the last one I saw was It's Kind of a Funny Story. I enjoy Magnolia, Pan's Labyrinth, Love Me If You Dare, War of the Buttons, ect. I want to see lots of films I can't even remember the names of right now... share them with me?
