About Me

Hey there!
I am an avid traveller, always up for a spontaneously cool trip. Planned ones can also be nice, but usually they just happen. Whether it is an 800 km walk on the Camino de Santiago or a weekend in Paris or a summer in Spain, it usually starts with many unknowns and ends with tons of incredible experience and new friends.
Apart from all the travelling, sometimes my life is completely normal - I study, work and go to bed early. On other occasions, there is too much going on to even have time to sleep. All in all, I would say it is a mixture of a little bit of everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I tried Couchsurfing a couple of times before signing up (not on my own, while travelling with friends) and it was a great experience. A way to meet people, to get to know the places the way locals do, to chat about life and to learn something new.

Interests

Apart from travelling?
Hiking, jogging cycling, rollerblading, skiing... all those other sports I haven't tried yet but am so willing to. Active lifestyle in general. Also books & movies. The power of thoughts and words. Psychology. Architecture. Languages.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite music? Never know what to answer to this one. I love Dire Straits, especially their "Romeo and Juliet". I can listen to Marijonas Mikutavičius forever and ever. I like blues-jazz-rock, other styles I sometimes don't even know the names of.

Favourite books? "Candide" by Voltaire, "Dreaming in Cuban" by Cristina Garcia, Albert Camus, "Lietumi prieš saulę" by Dalia Staponkutė, "Du miestai ir sala" by Jurga Vilpišauskaitė, "Juegos de la edad tardía" by Luis Landero, "El Aleph" by Jorge Luis Borges, "El viajero del siglo" by Andrés Neuman, and many others.

Favourite movies? That's a tricky one. Favourite romantic comedy? "Definitely Maybe". Favourite movie in Spanish language? "Las medianeras". Favourite horror movie? "Shutter Island" (is it a horror movie? well, it was scary.). Favourite Lithuanian movie? "Emilija iš Laisvės alėjos". Favourite Italian movie? "Perfetti sconosciuti". Favourite love story? "One day". Favourite story about love? "Last Night". Or "Closer". Movie with the best ending? "Remember Me". Favourite animation movie? "Surf's Up". Favourite soundtrack? "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.". Other favourites: "Wings of Desire", "Blue Jasmine", "Lošėjas", "Biutiful", "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked 100 km in 24 hours once. That was quite a challenge, also one of the most amazing experiences. Kind of a way of proving myself that anything is possible.
