Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

To travel as much as possible and meet as many people possible (in life and this exchange year especially)

ABOUT ME

I'm a mathematical and musical genius. I wish I could say that but yeah no, I'm not even close. I'm a simple, slightly above average student studying Sociology and Economics in Mumbai and will be in Madrid for an exchange program till June 2013. It will be my actual first time out of the country so extremely excited for the many possibilities and that's what one lives for right? My mother accuses me of treating my home as a guesthouse because I barely am at home. Absolutely love travelling and food. But I don't think I can cook too well. And I like to travel on my own chilled pace and I prefer having actual conversations with people in a new place rather than just, say sightseeing (I would die in a tour group). I talk in tangents, if you haven't figured that already but I'm nice otherwise (so my friends say).

PHILOSOPHY

"...So much of what we perceive cannot be expressed. It's unspeakable. And yet you know, when we communicate with one another and we feel that we have connected and we think that we're understood I think we have a feeling of almost spiritual communion. And that feeling might be transient, but I think it's what we live for."

This is from the movie Waking Life and most of what I believe, I found beautifully worded in this movie. This is just one of the dialogues I really like.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to the website but have heard a lot from my friends who have couchsurfed before. I'm hoping to couchsurf a lot now!

Intereses

I believe, I have a slight case of ADHD so anything and everything interests me. I'm a distracted, wandering child mostly.

Otherwise food and theatre interest me. Singing gives me this awesome, strange energy and happiness but I can't really sing well.

Also, I'm largely disturbed by the current state of many things in our society, so alternative systems (education, lifestlye and the likes) interest me greatly.

I love the Avataar: The Last Airbender animated series. And I like walking, just walking (not in Mumbai heat though!)

Algo increíble que he hecho

A moment that left me awestruck (as couchsurfing asks me) was when I went camping (in an illegal man-made lake area) near Mumbai with a few of my fiends and one afternoon we just spent the time staring at the water and making patterns with a branch. There was amazing comfortable silence that we shared followed by a really nice conversation and burnt noodles.

Other moments are the number of coincidences that worked for us during our backpacking trip across North India and eating amazing food all the way!
