About Me
** 2023 UPDATE ** I am no longer active on Couchsurfing and I’m unable to host guests. Please don’t send me requests as I am most likely not going to be able to even check the message.
ME - I go by Vaithi (something like why-tea). I love seeing new places, and sometimes prefer traveling by myself. In the past 5 years, I have seen 39 states in the US, and I'm looking to do the rest pretty soon. I have been to 4 other countries. I moved to Atlanta during the pandemic in 2020. Still feel like I’m fairly new to the area, looking to explore!
SCHOOL - I grew up in India until I turned 21. I came to the US to do my Master's back in 2013.
PROFESSION - I work for a consulting firm and I have an electrical engineering background. If I meet you (and you're interested), I can explain a bit about my job role.
COUCHSURFING - Discovered the couchsurfing concept in 2017, and I have loved it (for the most part). I have stayed with some amazing people, and I have had the opportunity of hosting some amazing people too. This is just the beginning, and I am looking forward to meeting a lot more amazing folks throughout the US (and other countries too).
COUCHSURFING EXPECTATIONS - You can expect a funny, fun loving, outgoing person in me. I only accept requests when I can hang out with my surfer. If I am hosting you, you are almost assured a yummy, tasty, delicious Indian meal with me (of course, only if you want that). If you would rather eat outside, I would love to show you around too. While I am staying with a surfer, I would prefer it if my host can hang out with me (at least during the evening). Or a beer together. At least dinner together (everyone's got to eat). I have had some amazing experiences hanging out with my hosts (and their friends sometimes), and I can definitely say that I have made some friends over the time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like seeing new places. Trying to cover as much of the United States as I can. I try to get out of town at least once a month. I love doing the touristy things in a new place, but I also love checking out some local spots that I cannot simply find on Google or Tripadvisor. I also believe spending time with the locals is a part of the experience of seeing a new place.

I like to read, play ultimate frisbee, Racquetball, badminton, and board games, watch movies, try new restaurants and bars, and recently discovered the joys of bird watching

Music, Movies, and Books
- Crime/thriller novels - Love some of the fan favorites as well (Harry Potter, Inheritance, LOTR series)
- Used to be a big Jeffrey Archer fan I don't read as much these days, but I intend (this time for sure) on getting back on track soon.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Gone white water rafting four times without knowing to swim :(
- Seen a grizzly bear in the wild from a 20 ft distance
